G. Narayanamma Institute of Technology & Science (GNITS), Hyderabad, a leading Engineering college for women, was founded by late Shri. G.Pulla Reddy in 1997, for providing excellent learning facilities for women in Engineering. We aim to promote Technical Education among women to build a new generation of thinkers, innovators and planners in Science and Technology. GNITS is highly sought after in the Telugu speaking states for providing excellent academic curriculum, outstanding placements and nurturing young women as technocrats and innovators.
GNITS received UGC Autonomous status for 10 years from 2018 and is affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad(JNTUH). GNITS is approved by AICTE, accredited by NAAC A+, 5 UG programs (Tier 1) and 4 PG programs are NBA accredited. GNITS was in the Rank-Band of 250-300 in NIRF,2022. We offer 7UG and 5PG programs including two new programs on emerging technologies viz. B.Tech. CSE (AI&ML) and CSE (Data Science). GNITS got approval for four minor degree programs with specialization in AI&ML, IoT, Data Science and Cyber Security.
GNITS has International Research Collaborations with KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden, University of Auckland, New Zealand, St. Louis University, St. Louis, USA. We hosted Sweden-India Business Council Delegation in November,2023. Peter Diamandis, Chairman of the XPRIZE Foundation, USA, delivered a session on Exponential Technologies, Sept 2024.
GNITS is proud to have been recognized by Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO). The departments of CSE&IT, ECE&ETM, and EEE are recognized as Research Centres by JNTUH, Hyderabad. GNITS has 15 Research Centers and 15 Centers of Excellence with Industry collaborations spread over all departments. MAC Lab was sponsored by M/s APPLE Inc. and inaugurated by Mr.Tim Cook, CEO of M/s APPLE Inc. in 2016. GNITS regularly conducts Training Programs, Workshops, Guest Lectures and Seminars. International conferences were conducted in association with reputed publishing houses like Springer. GNITS has 90 Doctorates, 100 faculty members are pursuing Ph.D and 30 are recognized as supervisors from various universities like JNTUH, OU, KLEF, VIT University etc. 35 scholars were awarded Ph.D and 52 are pursuing Ph.D. under the guidance of the supervisors from GNITS in the last 5 years. GNITS faculty published 1900 research papers in reputed Journals, Books and Conferences. 60 research proposals were submitted in the last 5 years. 100.84 lakhs of SEED grant facilitated faculty to be active in research and consultancy activities. 83 research projects worth 233 lakhs have been sanctioned by government and non-government agencies like DST, SERB ANRF, AICTE, etc... GNITS was sanctioned a funding to the tune of 80 lakhs by DST for the Consolidation of University Research for Innovation and Excellence in Women Universities (CURIE) project in November, 2024. A total of 45 MoUs were made during last five years with reputed Industries and a total of 550 activities. Institutional membership with professional bodies like IEEE, CSI, IETE, ISTE and IEI ensure student exposure to latest technologies.
The Innovation and Entrepreneurship (I&E) cell provides complete ecosystem to nurture the students’ ideas and support them build prototypes. I&E Cell, in collaboration with J-Labs of JNTUH is envisaged to network people, ideas, experience and resources. The Incubation center provides a nurturing ecosystem for product development and to support patenting of innovations from faculty and students with complete financial support. GNITS has been sanctioned a grant of Rs.10 crores for the establishment of ATAL Incubation Centre by NITI Aayog, Govt of India. 111 patents were published out of which 9 have been granted. The students won First Prize of 17 lakhs in ‘Aegon International – 24 Hours Health and Wealth Hackathon’, 2018. A total of 2075 students participated in 20+ events under Entrepreneur Development Cell, resulting in 23 startups by alumni and 2 student startups have been registered till date and won First prize in Smart India Hackathon in 2022 and First prize of 2 Lakhs in Hackwithinfy, Infosys, Pune Aug2022. The students of GNITS are placed in top MNCs like JP Morgan, Qualcomm, Microsoft, Twilio, Adobe, Servicenow, Commvault, Amazon, HSBC, etc. The highest package is 51.03 LPA and the average package is 11 LPA for the current batch of 4th year B.tech students. Excellent consistent internships with highest stipend of 1.25 per month.
Well maintained green campus with required infrastructure provides an excellent learning environment. The electrical power requirement in GNITS is partly supplied by sustainable sources like Solar, Wind and Biogas.
The vibrant student clubs like Samskruthi, Literaria Clava, NSS and Lead India, intensify interpersonal development and leadership qualities. GNITS received various distinct awards and recognitions from professional bodies for its quality of education and achievements in sports.
